В 1982 году окончил географический факультет Московского государственного педагогического института по специальности «география и биология».

Профессиональный опыт

С 1995 по 2000 год – начальник департамента заповедного дела Минприроды России, начальник управления заповедного дела Госкомэкологии России.
С 2000 по 2002 год – заместитель руководителя департамента охраны окружающей среды и экологической безопасности МПР России.
С 2002 по 2003 год – руководитель федеральных проектов российского представительства Всемирного фонда дикой природы (WWF).
С 2003 по 2005 год – заместитель руководителя департамента особо охраняемых природных территорий МПР России, советник руководителя департамента природопользования и охраны окружающей среды Правительства Москвы.
С 2007 по 2017 год – начальник управления ООПТ и правового обеспечения Федеральной службы по надзору в сфере природопользования; заместитель директора департамента государственной политики и регулирования в сфере охраны окружающей среды Минприроды России.
В настоящее время занимает должность советника генерального директора в организации «Дальневосточные леопарды».
Заслуженный эколог Российской Федерации.
Лауреат международной награды Фреда Паккарда «За мужество в деле охраны национальных парков» Всемирной комиссии по охраняемым территориям (WCPA), 2004 год.

Евроазиатский центр сохранения дальневосточных леопардов («Дальневосточные леопарды») – российская автономная некоммерческая организация, деятельность которой направлена на изучение, сохранение и восстановление популяции дальневосточного леопарда.

Education

In 1982, he graduated from the Faculty of Geography of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute, majoring in geography and biology.

Professional experience

From 1995 to 2000, he headed the Department of the Reserve Management and Studies of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and the Reserve Management and Studies of the State Committee for Environmental Protection of the Russian Federation.
From 2000 to 2002, he was the Deputy Head of the Department of Environmental Protection and Ecological Safety of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation.
From 2002 to 2003, he headed federal projects of the Russian representative office of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
From 2002 to 2005, he was the Deputy Head of the Department of SPNR of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, Adviser to the Head of the Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection of the Moscow Government.
From 2007 to 2017, he headed the Department of SPNR and Legal Support of the Federal Service for Supervision of Nature Resources; Deputy Director of the Department of Public Policy and Regulation in the field of environmental protection of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation.
CEO Councillor of the 'Far Eastern Leopards' organization at present.
Honored Ecologist of the Russian Federation.
Winner of the Fred Packard international award 'For courage in protecting the national parks' of the World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA), 2004.
